A Little Homemade Goodness
Hi, I'm Danette! I'm the person behind the mixing bowls, cookie dough, and probably a little flour on the kitchen counter.
Danette's Bakes & Cakes started pretty simply. I've always enjoyed baking, but somewhere along the way, it became more than just something I liked to do. It became my way to unwind, clear my head, and find a little peace in the middle of life's everyday chaos.
What started as baking for the fun of it slowly turned into experimenting with recipes, trying new flavors, and sharing my creations with family and friends. Before I knew it, my little hobby had taken on a life of its own.
I never set out to become a professional baker. I'm just someone who discovered how much happiness can come from making something with my own two hands, especially when I get to share it with someone else.
Why Small Batches?
I bake in small batches because I genuinely enjoy the process. From mixing the dough to trying a new flavor combination, I like being involved in every step.
Small-batch baking also gives me the freedom to experiment, make adjustments, and pay attention to the little details. Some recipes are longtime favorites, while others take a few tries (or more!) before they're ready to share.
And that's part of what makes it fun. There's always something new to create, improve, or taste-test.

Everything at Danette's Bakes & Cakes is made in my home kitchen, with thoughtfully chosen ingredients, a little creativity, and plenty of care.
Whether it's a classic chocolate chip cookie, a nostalgic cake pop, or one of my rotating monthly flavors, my hope is simple: that something I genuinely love making brings a little happiness to your day.
